Matt Redman coming to Broadmoor

Matt Redman is a world-renowned worship leader/songwriter and will be at Broadmoor this coming Tuesday (March 13th) at 7pm.  In a recent interview, Matt was asked to share the background of several songs off his new CD  "Beautiful News."   

Redman: A while back, my wife Beth and I were in a really painful situation. She had just had another miscarriage, and it happened to be the week of the London bombings. So out of us flowed "You Never Let Go," a little song of faith and trust.

But here's the cool part. A while later she was pregnant again, and things were going really well. We came out of the ultrasound scan, having seen our little baby on the screen, and the idea for "Fearfully and Wonderfully Made" popped into my head. Beth and I ended up writing it together as a celebration of the miracle of God's creation, and a challenge to use the lives he's given us for His glory. Back in September 2005, Beth gave birth to our fantastic little son Rocco. He is an amazing blessing.

Matt Redman on Songwriting

After a week of hearing worship music, I'm convinced that songs with deeper lyrics are needed today for our church.  I love all the music, but the deeper lyrics of Keith Getty and Stuart Townend continue to bless me.

There's a strong challenge out there for worship leaders and songwriters today to present a clearer view of who God is through the songs we sing. Not only is it a matter of honoring God's name as wholesomely as possible-but also our songs of worship play an important part in affecting people's view of God. I'm pumped about hosting Chris Tomlin, Louie Giglio & Matt Redman at my church on March 13th. 

Google his name and you'll get 1.5 million results.  The amazing thing is that Tomlin's heart for worship hasn't been changed by his success.  This is what Christiany Today says about Tomlin...

New Modern Hymns

It was awesome to meet and hear Keith and Kristyn Getty at re:create. We all got a copy of their

latest CD project "In Christ Alone." After coming home and listening to the whole CD, I can tell you that this music really speaks to me like no other. I highly recommend this CD!

Keith Getty and Stuart Townend have been writing modern hymns together for 6 years now. They collaborated on many of the selections including the title cut and "The Power of the Cross." Kristyn joins Keith in not only the co-writing of several hymns on this CD, but she lends her smooth vocals to all the selections.
