I've been in a Blog Bog this summer, especially the latter part of July and August. Why? Well, it's been extremely busy at church. I know. That sounds like a lame excuse. But BELIEVE ME, it's been crazy.
You take an already busy summer with many guest speakers and message series to program, add a complete Re-Branding of the church identity (logo, demographics), add to that the management of a complete redesign, development, testing and implementation of a complex website for the church with tons of new features, then add Small Groups Fall kick-off events, new web-connected Group Kiosks where attenders can walk up, search for a group, register, and get a print-out, on top of that add the normal large Fall Kick-Off for the church including new message series, Mailers to the community, Invite cards to the members, message website (www.momanddadplan.com), promotional videos, posters, banners, advertising, worship services customized to the messages, and a floating house on the pond out front .... you get an idea of what's it's been like. Add 3 major staff changes this summer and all the meetings associated with that and you'll understand my bog. Crazy.
My readership is obviously down during the bogging. I think the only remaining, loyal fans include my mother and my mother-in-law. And don't think they visit for the incredible, insightful articles on worship. No, it's all about the grandson.
So I'll attempt to arise from the bog to blog. I do hope to once again write on some of my passions and ideas on worship trends and life-changing stories along the journey. I'll even throw in a pic or two of what's going on in my world. There will be Eli stories. There will be Eli pics. And I'll avoid the wrath of the grandmothers.
If you're like me, it's the antics of a 6 year old that remind me of whose I am and how He must feel when I make mistakes, when I think like a child, and when I give Him joy. It's that father-son perspective that brings me back to my Heavenly Father.
Wow!! What is going on?! Praying for you, Linda
