We've seen a downpour every new day in our new, but old, place to live--and I do mean downpour! This typical "dry and thirsty land" has been abundantly quenched from a big sky. If everything is bigger in Texas, the rain storms hold no exception. Pictured is a nearby creek that flows like the mighty Mississippi. Drainage ditches are rivers, lakes are closed with no ramp entrance in sight and right-handed streets hold water traps waiting to explode.
The forces of water are too familiar to me being from Louisiana. My mom and step-dad lived in a house that until recent drainage improvements had been dubbed "the 7 year flood house." I can remember flood waters rising and moving vans packing to beat the oncoming water. The forces of nature . . . the forces of God.
On our way to see Evan Almighty, Brandi and I found this message on the Interstate
Highway Digital signs in the area ..."Turn Around Don't Drown." We laughed and thought; "This has to be a joke." It hasn't been funny to many families who have been affected by the flooding waters.
Abundant rain will be appreciated later this summer but today we are keeping our chin up knowing that the sun will eventually show itself. As in life, trials may come and go, but you can choose how you will go through the tough times. When you take on the perspective of Christ your whole attitude of dealing with disappointment or hurt can change.
Hi. I found a great picture on your site of Southlake Town Square from June 07. I am working on updating our website and wanted a picture of Town Square on it. Is this picture copyrighted? Can I use it? Thanks!
